
Agata Dudek is a Polish illustrator who graduated in illustration at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Since graduating, she has concentrated on illustrating books and newspapers and on graphic design. Since 2010, she has been assisting with great pleasure at illustration workshops at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She is a co-founder of the ACAPULCO studio, where with her colleague Małgorzata Nowak she creates new graphic images and illustrations, while dancing to the disco hits from the Nineties. In her spare time, she likes reading cookery books and growing tomatoes on her windowsill.
She has received a number of important awards for her work, among them the main prize at the competition for the best designed book (2009), the award Grand Prix SATYRYKON Legnica (2009), the first jury prize at the competition for the best designed book (2010) and the main award The Golden Goose at the Kremnica Gagy international festival of humour (2010). In 2012 she received the main Grant Font prize and the award for the most beautiful book in a competition organised by the Polish Publishers’ Association. Her illustrations have frequently been nominated by the Polish section of IBBY for the book of the year, the last time in 2017, for her picture book Cook Me a Fairytale.
