
Päike Ja Pilv was founded in 2005. It is known for publishing high quality literature for children and teenagers. The critical eye of their editor has brought the publisher a number of prestigious awards. They cooperate closely with the Estonian Children’s Literature Centre, staging various events and competitions. The publisher is a member of the Estonian Publishers’ Association and is recognised among the professional public as one of the best. Its works are also recognised outside Estonia. In 2015, the works Tiu And the Dove by Kristi Kangilaski and No, It Isn’t So by Kertu Sillaste were included in the White Ravens Catalogue. Triin Soomets’s book The Dream Train was included in the IBBY 2016 catalogue. Every five years, a prize is given in Estonia for the five most beautifully designed children’s books. In 2014, four books published by Päike ja pilv received this prize.
